About Jay

I am a patient and committed tutor who focuses on making learning clear and practical. I have experience supporting learners at school, college, and university levels, with strengths in programming, mathematics, and digital skills. I also hold certified training in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. I aim to deliver well-structured, confident lessons that help students build understanding and achieve their goals. About the lesson

• Techniques and teaching methodology I teach by breaking topics into simple, understandable steps. I use clear explanations, real examples, and short practice tasks to reinforce learning. I check understanding regularly and adjust the pace based on the student’s comfort level. My approach focuses on ensuring students truly understand concepts rather than memorising them. I also encourage questions and create a supportive learning environment. • Typical length of a lesson A usual lesson lasts around one hour. This includes a quick recap, the main teaching section, guided practice, and time at the end for questions or revision. Longer sessions can be used for exam preparation or project support. • Your qualifications/experience as a tutor I have experience supporting students during my university studies, helping them with programming, algorithms, maths, and coursework. I have worked as a course representative, assisting my classmates academically, and I have completed certified training in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint through the RISE programme. I also have hands-on experience with software development projects, which helps me teach practical skills effectively. • Who the lessons are for (level, age, etc.) My lessons are suitable for learners aged 12 and above. This includes school students, college students, and university beginners who want help in computing, maths, or general study support. I also teach adult learners who want to build digital skills such as Excel, Word, and basic programming.
