About Sravya

I am a sophomore at California Polytechnic University, Pomona, completing a Biology major and Physiology minor. I love working with students anywhere from elementary school all the way to high school. Mainly, I find great joy in assisting students with their endeavor to achieve higher grades. I've worked as a tutor for the Irvine High School PTSA department and as an independent tutor for elementary school kids, and now I am open to starting private tutoring for K-12 students.

I tutor for a wide variety of subjects, with my expertise being in English, History, and Biological Sciences. I have completed around 10 APs classes in the past and have prior experience of working with students in tutoring contexts. I also specialize in essay writing/editing skills and reading for children. In my free time, I am also available to teach Indian music lessons for beginners. I am currently available on Friday-Monday; please text me for times and further details.

About the lesson

It depends on the subject. Usually, I have a conversation with the parents about what their objective is from the tutoring sessions and what they feel is the struggle that their student is having with the material. After, I would have that same conversation with the student. This process helps me understand the gaps in knowledge but also the perception the student has on the material, as compared to how the parents are perceiving their students' struggles. Then, I would work with the student and begin observing them myself. After the session ends, I go over the positives, negatives, suggestions, and next time's material with the student and if needed, the parents.
