About Maximillian

I am the founder and director of the architecture studio MW-A, which specialises in residential and civic projects in both the UK and Europe.

I have 10+ years experience in the industry and I am an alumnus of two of the most highly rated architecture schools in the world, The Bartlett (UCL) and the Architectural Association (AA), graduating with distinctions. I was awarded a full-time scholarship to carry out my Masters (RIBA Part II) at the AA and have successfully tutored others to do the same.

About the lesson

I provide lessons for both prospective and current students. Areas I specialise in are:

1. Entry to University - Undergraduate and Master’s / Diploma

- University selection - assessing the best fit
- Application assistance - UCAS and school requirements (e.g. drawing tasks)
- Portfolio review - structure and content
- Interview preparation - practice sessions and feedback
- Scholarship mentorship - assisting with specific requirements
- Extra-curricular: buildings, reading lists, films, galleries etc

2. Students at University - Undergraduate and Master’s / Diploma

- Project assistance - specific design brief / thesis and development
- Core skills development - sketching, draughting, CAD, model making etc
- Portfolio and presentation - physical and digital
- History and Theory - essay writing, reading etc
- Technical studies - structures, materials, environment etc
- Extra-curricular: buildings, reading lists, films, galleries etc

Each individual lesson is tailored to the student - no two are the same. Understanding the specific requirements of each student allows me to produce a bespoke lesson plan that builds towards clear objectives.

Architecture students will already have tutors at their school, but they will need to share these with their fellow peers in a high-pressured, often intimidating and stressful environment for limited amounts of time. I am able to provide one-on-one, dedicated assistance to help students identify and achieve their goals, with the overall aim of producing high-quality work and confident young architects.
