About Liam
Musical experience/Background * Performing in local pubs filling in as a session guitarist when needed * Played in a heavy metal band for 4 years (2019-2022) named ‘Cylus’ music video for ‘Black Lung’ which reached nearly 20k views, available on YouTube at (concealed information) * Attended BIMM Music Institute Brighton for 2 years studying Guitar Music Performance * Took up guitar at age 13 and shortly after, began playing around Maidstone in a rock covers band up to age 17 Highlights 1. Played to a sold-out venue (Badehaus) in Berlin with my band Cylus 2. Played Concorde 2 (Brighton) 3. Supported a popular metal band (The Royal) from Holland, on their ‘Deathwatch’ album release tour Key skills * Playing both electric and acoustic guitar * Proficient in both plectrum and fingerstyle guitar playing * Competent at reading both traditional and tablature notation * A coherent understanding of music theory (scales, chords, melody and harmony) * Knowledge and familiar understanding of multiple music genres * Songwriting and arrangement * Well practised in improvisation * A well-trained ear * Ability to simplify complex musical concepts

The prospect of teaching music, more specifically, guitar, resonates deeply with my career aspirations. I am captivated by the dynamic nature that music as a whole can and does provide. Being involved in music as a career is something I’ve wanted, but perhaps struggled with the confidence to finally proactively take this step until now. This passion has been a constant from the day I picked up my first musical instrument (Cornet at age 9).
