About Sylvida

Student in economy management at the University Gustave Eiffel (Marne La Vallée), I've always been passionate about the English language.

Having always been a serious and studious student, I was able during my school career to do extra hours of optional English (about 3 years).
I am certified by Cambridge University (London) attesting to my level of English, and have a scientific baccalaureate with European English mention. I also had the opportunity to attend drama classes in English for fun and thus improve my speaking skills.
Having family in London, I have also had the opportunity to travel several times from there to practice the language on the ground itself.

About the lesson

A teaching methodology is obviously adapted according to the profile of the person, his level of English, his expectations, needs, and objectives.

For my part in general, the hour of the lesson will take place in 3 parts (each part lasts 20 min):
- during the first part, it will be a discussion with the person to allow him to practice the oral language on for example British general culture, their daily lifestyles, touristic places, popular films…
- the second part will be a section of English to teach grammar and conjugation: carrying out exercises, lesson explanations and principles of conjugation on the basis of an adapted school book which will be the common thread.
- finally the last part will consist of varied activities depending on the profile, dedicated to learning a wide range of vocabulary (basic vocabulary, adverbs, proverbs and British expressions ...).

Several learning initiatives will be put in place: organization of reasoned debates on various subjects, fun games (example: FlashCards), identification in a person behavior for signs of difficulties and the person points of support for building approaches appropriate learning, development of work methods that give autonomy and offer activities that promote responsibility (if it is a young child).

I would also make the commitment to articulate with the parents at the end of each class, the content of the hour completed by email, message or oral. I will also let them know about the student progress.
Each hour of class will therefore be well thought out and carefully prepared in order to make it as rewarding as possible.

Parents suggestions and criticisms will be taken into account and welcome in order to be able to improve my methods of transmitting knowledge.
