I teach through a step by step method- specifically maths to ensure that students can throughly understand a concept. In addition to this exposing them to different questions,of a range of difficulty, helps for practice and to build their confidence when it comes round to them doing it independently.
With English, for younger years I ensure that certain words are understood by asking them to give examples of sentences that they can be used in. I also urge students to have a sense of curiosity which helps them when writing creatively and in theaspect of older students, pushes them to question ideas and think analytically.
