About Nitya
Hey! I'm Nitya, a first-year university student at the University of Melbourne. I'm friendly, easygoing and love working with people, especially when I get to help someone figure something out that they've been struggling with.
I offer lessons in English, Biology and Psychology for VCE and all subjects for years K-10 including English, Math and Sciences.
I've recently finished VCE, so I understand the school experience from a student's perspective, including the pressure of assessments, confusing topics and trying to figure out what works best for you.
Outside of uni, I enjoy creative projects, meeting new people and getting involved in different activities. I bring that same energy into tutoring and aim to make lessons feel relaxed, collaborative and actually enjoyable. I want my students to feel comfortable being themselves, asking questions and telling me what they need, without feeling judged for what they don't know yet.
I'm looking forward to meeting you and helping make your learning experience a little easier, more enjoyable and more rewarding!

My approach to tutoring is all about making lessons engaging, supportive and tailored to each student. I use a variety of activities, from interactive exercises and visual diagrams to guided practice and real-world examples, to help students build their skills, strengthen their understanding and feel more confident in what they're learning.
I recognise that every student has different needs and goals, so I make sure our lessons reflect what *they* want to get out of them. Whether you'd like to work through a set of questions you've already prepared, learn new content, tackle topics you're struggling with or complete a practice test, I'm here to support you. I value your input and want you to feel involved in your own learning, because tutoring works best when we're working towards goals that matter to you.
I'm also mindful that everyone learns differently. Whether you're a visual learner who benefits from diagrams, an auditory learner who learns through discussion and explanation, or a hands-on learner who needs to practise things yourself, I'll adapt my approach to help concepts genuinely click. I'm always happy to explain something in a different way, take things at your pace and revisit anything that doesn't quite make sense yet.
Ultimately, I want our lessons to be a space where you feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and figuring things out without judgement. My goal isn't just to help you improve your marks, but to help you develop a deeper understanding of your subjects, discover how you learn best and feel more confident in your own abilities.
