About Krisana
Hi! I'm Krisana, a senior currently attending Saint John High School. My favorite subjects are Biology, Environmental Science, Math, and History.
I am dedicated, high-achieving, and have maintained a high honors average throughout my high school career. I have over two years of experience with rigorous programs like IB, so I understand the pressure students may face when it comes to their studies.
Outside of academics, I work as a swim coach and a lifeguard, which has helped me develop strong communication and leadership skills. Therefore, I am used to working with different personalities and learning styles.
I love helping others - I want to help students build confidence in their abilities. My goal is not just to improve grades, but to help students feel more comfortable and capable in their learning.

My approach to tutoring is focused on understanding rather than memorization, and creating an environment where students feel confident making mistakes and improving. As an IB student, I understand the pressure of assessments and the importance of mastering content and test-taking techniques, especially with more complex subjects like biology.
As a swim coach, I have developed strong communication skills and the ability to adapt my teaching style to each individual. I break down complex concepts into simple, manageable steps to ensure students fully understand.
A typical lesson would include reviewing past material, introducing new concepts with clear explanations, and practicing through guided and independent questions. I also provide organized notes and practice questions to reinforce learning outside of lessons.
My goal overall is to help students build confidence, improve their problem-solving and test-taking skills, and achieve strong academic results.
