About Ciara

I'm a Student teacher, and tutoring is something I feel genuinely passionate about — not just as a way to share knowledge, but as a way to make a real difference in how a student feels about learning.

My love for education started in a Home Economics classroom. My teacher created a safe, welcoming space where every student felt supported, used humor to make lessons enjoyable, and genuinely cared about how we were doing as people — not just how we were performing academically. That experience showed me what great teaching really looks like, and it's the standard I hold myself to in every session I give.

I am currently studying to become a teacher and have already completed a school placement, which has given me hands-on experience working with students in a real classroom environment. I tutor Science, Biology, and Home Economics at Junior Cycle and Leaving Certificate level, and I bring the same warmth and encouragement to my grinds that inspired me as a student.

I believe every student is capable of doing well — sometimes they just need someone patient in their corner who explains things clearly, keeps things enjoyable, and never makes them feel silly for asking a question. That's exactly the kind of tutor I aim to be.

About the lesson

Having completed a school placement as part of my degree, I bring genuine classroom experience to every session — not just subject knowledge, but an understanding of how students actually learn. I know exactly what's needed to perform well, and I build every lesson around that.
My approach is structured and exam-focused, but always patient and encouraging. No question is too basic, and I tailor each session to where you are and where you need to be.
A typical one-hour lesson starts with a quick recap of the previous topic, moves into focused new material or past paper practice, and finishes with a short wrap-up so nothing gets lost between sessions.
Whether you're looking to build a solid foundation at Junior Cycle, push for better Leaving Cert grades, or just feel more confident going into mocks and summer exams, I'd love to help.
