About Georgie
Hi, I’m Georgie! I’m an empathetic, patient and approachable person who genuinely enjoys helping others learn and develop their confidence.
I have experience working with children and understand that every child is different. I take the time to understand how each student learns best and adapt my approach to make lessons enjoyable, supportive and easy to understand.
I have a strong interest in science and enjoy learning new things myself, which I believe helps me encourage students to be curious and enthusiastic about their subjects. I particularly enjoy helping others overcome topics they find difficult and seeing their confidence grow.
I aim to create a friendly environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and learning at their own pace. My goal is not only to help students improve academically, but also to help them believe in their own abilities.

My Approach to Tutoring
I believe every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching style to suit each child’s individual needs, strengths and learning preferences. My lessons are friendly, encouraging and interactive, with a focus on helping students build confidence as well as improve their knowledge and understanding.
I use a range of techniques, including clear explanations, worked examples, practice questions, quizzes, visual resources and step-by-step guidance. I also encourage students to explain their thinking so I can identify any areas they are struggling with and tailor the lesson accordingly.
Lesson Length
Lessons are typically 1 hour, although I can adapt the length depending on the student's age, concentration level and individual needs.
My Qualifications and Experience
I achieved an A* in GCSE Combined Science, A grades in GCSE English and Maths, and a C in A-Level Biology. I also hold a Distinction* in Applied Science National Certificate.
I have experience working with children aged 2–11, including supporting children with different abilities and learning styles. This has helped me develop a patient and understanding approach, and I understand the importance of making learning enjoyable and accessible.
Who My Lessons Are For
I would be happy to work with both primary and secondary school students, helping them develop their understanding, confidence and exam or schoolwork skills. I can adapt lessons to the student's age and current level, whether they need extra support with a particular topic, help keeping up with schoolwork, or additional practice to challenge themselves.
My aim is to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and developing their confidence as learners.
