About Hyacinthe
I am a Taiwanese student in Paris. Normal Mandarin is my mother tongue. Before I moved to Europe, I was civilized and exposed in an environment of our culture - traditional Chinese culture - traditional characters (hanzis or kanjis), classical literature, calligrapher, tai-chi (-chuan) , Chinese ink wash, qin (a traditional Chinese musical instrument), the art of tea, the game of go and also traditional philosophy, which never separates from the previous ones. If any of the above interests you, I can also give you lessons to discover it.

At the beginning, we will master the Chinese alphabet. This system is the standard method in the Republic of China for learning normal Mandarin and it can help you with correct pronunciation and exact tones.
Chinese characters are the center of the Chinese language. Reading and writing are arguably the most important parts. For beginners, I will introduce you to complete Chinese characters whose structures are beautiful and which will make it easy for you to understand incomplete or simplified ones and Japanese kanjis. In each class, we will read authentic texts and practice writing. Gradually, you will appreciate the rhythm and aesthetics of traditional Chinese characters.
In tradition, literature, art and culture never separate from philosophy. Taoism. the notion of air, yin and yang, Confucianism, etc. Such implicit thoughts are not obvious in the Western context but are influential in the East. I could indicate them to you and present them and we can discuss.
Of course, oral Mandarin which is articleless, genderless, conjugationless, almost orderless, and almost grammar-free is relatively easy. You will learn it spontaneously during the lessons!
