About the lesson

Most career coaches are people who failed to launch or pivot their own careers. It's a case of "if you can't do, teach." While my own career story is far from over, I have reinvented myself multiple times and fought my way through some very dark back alleys to get out onto the sunnier side of the street.

There are no guarantees. The ground is shifting under our feet, with AI changing all the rules and the economy being run by kleptofascist goons while the planet burns around us. These big problems will only be solved by the trillion-dollar industries of the future: climate tech, embodied AI, making government great again, and pulling our country back from the precipice to reindustrialize, decarbonize, and rebuild the welfare state for the challenges of this century, not last.

Career coaching with me is about finding your ikigai, the place where your powers are best put to use solving for what the world needs, though the day-to-day work in any career can often look unglamorous. My secret sauce as a career coach is having spent inordinate amounts of time and trial-and-error thinking and doing through these large-scale problems. I've learned so much about my own highest and best uses, but I'm still very much on this journey with you, so I have skin in the game. The learning will be mutual. I am the furthest thing from a guru, but I am very, very real.
