About Jill

I’m a former Big 4 tax professional (KPMG) who now tutors accounting basics with a laser focus on Double-Entry Bookkeeping (DEBK). I specialise in helping beginners, returners, and foundation-level students finally “get” debits, credits, journals, and the trial balance. My lessons are plain-English, example-heavy, and paced to your level. Sessions are structured, supportive, and full of worked examples plus short homework sets to build speed and accuracy. Expect lots of practice questions, and quick feedback so you know exactly where you stand. I’ve supported learners heading for ATI/ACCA foundations and LC Accounting refreshers. If you’ve ever felt stuck or intimidated by bookkeeping, I’ll make it click, step by step. DEBK only. Online 1-to-1.

About the lesson

- Post any routine transaction correctly first time

- Balance ledgers & produce a trial balance

- Identify & correct common errors (incl. suspense)

- Apply accruals/prepayments & depreciation

- Build exam confidence with timed practice

We’ll cover (as needed):
• Debits vs credits (the logic that never changes)
• Source docs → day books → journals
• Trial balance & error types (omission, commission, reversal, principle)
• Suspense accounts & error correction
• Accruals, prepayments & depreciation
• Bank reconciliations, VAT basics, discounts, payroll
