About Ashley

I’m a dedicated Chemistry tutor with experience as both a high-school Chemistry teacher and a university researcher. I’m currently completing my B.A. in Chemistry and pursuing a Master’s degree in STEM Education to further strengthen my ability to teach science effectively. I understand how crucial a good teacher can be in core science classes, and I strive to fill that role for every student I work with. This dual perspective allows me to make even the most complex topics understandable and engaging, whether you’re tackling high-school fundamentals or college-level problem sets. High-school students in particular thrive on structure, and that’s where I root my teaching style: structured and supportive. I break concepts down step by step, model solutions (“see one”), guide students through practice (“do one”), and provide immediate feedback so they can master skills with confidence. Whether you’re preparing for an exam, improving lab reports, or rebuilding confidence after a tough semester, each student is unique in their needs. Every session is tailored to your goals. With clear communication, professional materials, and a proven approach, I create a safe and motivating space where you can succeed.

About the lesson

Teaching method & techniques I use step-by-step explanations and a “see one → do one” approach: first I model a problem out loud, then we solve a similar one together, and finally you try one independently with rapid feedback. I lean on visuals, analogies, and worked examples, and I teach the why behind each step so you can transfer the skill to new problems. Typical lesson plan (adapted each session) Warm-up: quick check of goals & last takeaways Concept focus: targeted mini-lesson on one tricky idea Guided practice: solve problems together, increasing difficulty Independent try & feedback: you attempt; I coach & correct in real time Wrap-up: concise summary + mini action plan (practice set, study tips) What sets me apart I combine the perspective of a former high-school Chemistry teacher and current university research experience. That lets me make fundamentals crystal-clear while also supporting advanced, college-level thinking (mechanisms, data analysis, lab reports). I’m organized, encouraging, and I provide custom study guides and problem sets so you’re supported between sessions too.
