About Maia

I’m a Chemistry tutor with 6+ years of experience and a Master’s degree in Theoretical and Computational Chemistry. I take a holistic and interdisciplinary approach to teaching, especially in the area of forensic chemistry. My focus includes drug analysis, toxicology, and the techniques used in crime scene investigations. I bring the subject to life through the use of simulated case files and realistic problem scenarios. These help students connect chemical theory with real forensic applications. I also introduce key principles of analytical instrumentation, such as chromatography and spectroscopy, to show how evidence is processed and interpreted in the lab. Ethical considerations are a core part of my teaching, helping students understand the responsibility and impact of chemical work in the justice system. I’ve worked with many learners interested in careers in forensic science, law enforcement, and legal investigation. My lessons are interactive, structured, and adapted to fit each student’s pace and goals. I encourage critical thinking and scientific curiosity, while providing solid support through challenging material. With clear explanations and practical examples, I help students gain both confidence and competence. If you're passionate about solving mysteries and uncovering the truth, I’m here to guide you. Together, we’ll use chemistry to explore the world of forensic science and make a meaningful contribution to justice.

My teaching approach in Chemistry is centred on practical applications and strong problem-solving skills. I focus on helping students understand not just the theory, but how to apply it in real-world and exam settings. Key areas I cover include acid-base chemistry, pH calculations, titration techniques, and buffer solutions—core topics that are essential for mastering chemical equilibrium. I use step-by-step methods to teach calculation-based problems, helping students build both accuracy and confidence. Complex ideas are simplified through clear explanations, guided examples, and targeted practice. Visual aids and structured problem sets support deeper learning and long-term retention. I work especially well with students who are Research-driven or preparing for Olympiads, providing detailed insights and advanced techniques when needed. My lessons are personalised to challenge and support, pushing each learner to achieve their full potential. I place special emphasis on understanding equilibrium concepts and solving related numerical problems with confidence. Lessons are interactive, focused, and designed to meet individual goals. Whether you're preparing for a competition or just aiming to strengthen your chemistry skills, I'm here to help you succeed. Together, we'll build a strong foundation and sharpen your ability to solve even the toughest chemistry problems.
