About Salar

I'm a final-year engineering student at Middle East Technical University, where calculus and mechanics are part of my daily coursework rather than something I studied once and set aside. I earned straight A's across all my own exams, including every STEM subject, which means I've sat through the same pressure my students are facing and remember precisely where these courses get difficult.

Over the past five years I've taught math and physics to more than a hundred students across the US, UK, and Europe, working with everyone from freshmen shoring up Algebra foundations to seniors targeting specific AP and SAT scores. Several have gone on to top grades after starting well below where they wanted to be.

I'm patient, direct, and organized. Parents receive regular progress updates, lessons start on time, and every session has a clear plan rather than an open-ended chat. If you're stuck, I'll tell you honestly what needs work and how long it will realistically take.

Outside teaching I build software, which keeps me sharp on exactly the kind of problem-solving these subjects are meant to develop.

About the lesson

I teach AP Calculus, AP Physics, SAT and ACT math, and the high school courses feeding into them: Algebra I and II, Geometry, Precalculus, and standard or Honors Physics. Lessons suit students from freshman year through senior year, whether you're building foundations or targeting a specific score.

We start with a diagnostic. I give you real exam questions and watch how you work them, which tells me what you actually understand versus what you've memorized without foundation. Most students lose points in two or three specific places, and until you know which places, extra studying is guesswork.

A typical lesson runs in three parts. We review whatever you attempted since last time, focusing on the errors rather than the correct answers. Then we work new material together, with you solving problems while I question your reasoning, because being able to explain why a step works is what makes it hold up when the wording changes on test day. We finish with a set of targeted problems for you to attempt before we meet again.

What sets me apart is that I teach to the test format, not just the content. I use released College Board material, mark to the actual scoring guidelines, and build in timed practice early rather than cramming it into the final weeks. You leave every lesson with written notes and worked diagrams you can study from.

Over five years of teaching, with straight A's across my own exams and current engineering coursework that uses this calculus and mechanics daily.
