Amidst my continued pursuit of a degree in BS Actuarial Science in the US, my adoration for mathematics is unmistakable. A testament to this passion lies in graduating high school with distinctions for mathematics and science. There's a certain satisfaction in unraveling the complexities of mathematical problems, an art I've come to cherish deeply. I delight in dissecting past exams, meticulously examining each question to ensure that I am well-prepared for any challenge they may present. Welcome to LJ's Private Tutoring! My Approach: I believe in tailoring my teaching style to suit each student's unique needs and learning preferences. With a strong foundation in BSc Actuarial Science and a genuine love for mathematics, I bring a dynamic approach to tutoring that focuses on both comprehension and enjoyment. My goal is not just to help students understand mathematical concepts but to instill in them a passion for the subject that will last a lifetime. Methodology: What sets me apart as a teacher is my ability to break down complex concepts into easily digestible chunks, fostering a deep understanding of mathematical principles. I emphasize applications to make math relevant and engaging. Additionally, I provide ample opportunities for practice and exploration, encouraging students to think critically and problem-solve independently. Languages Proficiency: I am proficient in English and Afrikaans, enabling me to teach in English and Afrikaans. Typical Lesson Expectations: During a typical lesson with me, students can expect a supportive and interactive learning environment. We'll start by reviewing any challenging topics from previous sessions before diving into new material. I'll use a variety of teaching resources, including visual aids, interactive exercises, and examples, to reinforce concepts. Together, we'll work through problems step-by-step, with plenty of opportunities for questions and clarification along the way.
