About Pierre
I started 'coding' as a professional on IBM punch cards in 1982. I was a 'programmer on duty' POD in University prior to that and also a computer operator. A POD has a small office where students from any level would come and get unstuck in their programming. Programming came very naturally to me, once I got 'the nudge'. When I started, there were no terminals, no screens, no 'apps'. Feedback was from a 'line' printers. Forty years of experience, spanning several fields, 100's of technologies, being 'in the line of fire', on call 24x7, often times the 'subject matter expert' SME, I've learned a few things. My past nick names include 'data' and 'the professor'. A peer once told upper management that the key to improving the team, was to teach me.

The lessons would cover the fundamentals through to modern concepts, assuming absolutely zero knowledge from the learner. Technology is in a constant state of change, yet the basic principals forming the backbone don't. Surprisingly, many experience programmers are unfamiliar with the basics. Not unlike drivers that have no idea what happens after you press the start button. We programmers should not be comfortable with only that. We want more. There is more. A lot more, and I'm willing to share what I've learned. There is more to programming than 'code'.
