About Nigel

I'm a singer-songwriter who spent a lot of time playing acoustic guitar and singing, playing small festivals and weekly gigs. I decided I wanted to focus more on electric guitar and writing heavier music. So I'm currently in the process of creating, producing, mixing and mastering my own pop punk/post hardcore single/ep, all instruments, digital and physical, as this is where my roots lie. However I spent over a decade writing and playing acoustic guitar primarily. Over time I've come up with many systems and patterns that have helped me write on and expand my guitar playing. Through this time, from the beginning of my guitar journey I have been categorising the most effective ways to play and make guitar learning fun and easy.

About the lesson

Something I am extremely pleased with and most grateful for with the lessons I began with, were fundamentals that are often overlooked, i.e. muting unplayed strings even when playing simple chords. These techniques, and the knowledge imparted on me by a great guitarist and teacher collectively with the patterns and approaches I have found most efficient and simplest ways to look at the fretboard to build on the strong foundation and expand from a beginner guitarist to a proficient musician. Whether it's acoustic or electric I have a lot of experience, not just playing in my room, but being on the radio, playing small festivals as a singer-songwriter, and also teaching people I know and family members how to play too. I believe I'd be a great fit for anyone who is beginning their journey, or hasn't started yet but wants to. I can provide advice for free in terms of guitars for beginners of all kinds of values and that goes for equipment also. I hope to pass my knowledge onto as many people as possible as guitar has been a true saviour in my life, and something I am deeply passionate about because of its role in my life.
