About Harper

Hello, my name is Harper. I am a 20 yr old woman who has a passion for helping! I love to help students outside of class with tutoring! I have over 5 years of experience working with kids of ages 2m-18yrs old! I have experience working at a special needs school so am familiar with strategies for teaching students of all abilities and levels. I also teach dance classes and love getting creative!

I have previously worked in a special needs school, where I assisted students learning, behaviour management and personal care. I love to help take care of everyone, no matter their age, gender, abilities… ect

I also have a love for dance! I have grown up my whole life being a dancer of many styles and even became a dance teacher at a local school.

Finally, I have a special hobby for crocheting! If you enjoy crafts like me you might have seen some crochet creations before. I really enjoy making cute animals and teddies, and have recently sold a few at a market. When we meet maybe I can show you some photos!

I have all relevant qualifications such as:
- WWCC
- first aide & cpr training
- police check
- drivers license
- food safety certification
- protecting children certification

About the lesson

Hello!

I am a bubbly, thoughtful and caring individual, always here to provide a fun, comfortable and supportive learning environment for children of any ages and abilities!

Each tutoring lesson is recommended to run for 1hr to gain the most productivity for the students. I am flexible with how student/parents are wanting lesson regarding Location and times as long as it’s a quiet place with minimal distractions. Sessions will be with only me and the student (unless otherwise discussed).

I have lots of experience with disabilities and strategies to aide learning for those who have additional needs. For these students I would recommend in-person lessons as it can make communication and understanding more efficient.

I am always happy to answer any questions and have endless patience for my students. I understand each individual has different learning needs, therefore I adapt specific programs and strategies for them to thrive.

Harper greatly helped my little boy with his English studies. My son is in year 3 and was struggling with his reading and writing, Harper came to my house for multiple sessions with him, he greatly improved his reading and writing skills. Harper had great patience with him and kept him engaged for each hour session.
