About Syirah

I’m a 21-year-old STPM graduate from the 2024 batch. I’m passionate about teaching and have experience teaching English to children through Kumon, as well as volunteering to teach English to refugee children. I enjoy helping students learn through a relaxed, discussion-based environment, more like learning with a friend.

About the lesson

I’m offering tutoring specifically for STPM Literature, focusing on poetry and novels. I’m a relatively new tutor, but I studied STPM Literature myself and have a strong interest in literary analysis and critical thinking.

Rather than simply giving you prepared answers to memorise, I want to help you understand how to analyse a text and develop your own interpretation.

In my lessons, we can work on:
* Identifying themes, symbolism, imagery, literary devices, and other important elements
* Developing critical-thinking and analytical skills
* Supporting interpretations with evidence from the text
* Discussing different possible interpretations
* Reviewing your answers and identifying areas for improvement

Since STPM Literature resources can sometimes be difficult to find, I’m also preparing my own learning materials to make the texts easier to study and discuss.

My approach is more discussion-based rather than simply lecturing. I want students to eventually look at a poem or novel and think, “I know how to analyse this myself,” rather than depending entirely on memorised model answers.

English Lessons for Students Below 14

I also offer English lessons for primary and lower secondary students. I have previous experience teaching Kumon English to children under 14, as well as volunteering to teach English to refugee children.

Lessons can cover grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, comprehension, and speaking, with activities adjusted to the student’s level. I aim to create a relaxed, friendly environment where students can learn and participate comfortably.

Due to Superprof's system, I can't remove the 10-hour package. However, each class will be 5 hours long. If you book 5 classes over 5 days, the total will be RM80.
