About Amy
I have over 20 years experience in education and childcare, and have specialised in working with students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, particularly autistic spectrum conditions and specific learning disabilities. I have worked with children and young people from pre-school to post-16 in a variety of settings, and with a variety of abilities - from P-Levels to Level 3 BTec and A-Level. I am a qualified Level 5 Specialist Tutor and am proficient in teaching basic literacy and numeracy skills, phonics, functional skills and study skills.

I believe that all teaching should be structured around each student as an individual and content should be differentiated to fit their particular needs, abilities and strengths. I am experienced in assessing students to discover the gaps in their knowledge, then basing a framework of teaching around what it is they need to focus on.
i think it is of utmost importance to get to know each individual student and to form a relationship built on mutual respect and trust, in order for them to fully access the learning that is on offer. all students deserve equality of opportunity, regardless of their abilities, gender, cultural background or race, and all should be guided towards reaching their full potential.
