About Amanda
I received my Bachelor's Degree at SUNY Potsdam in English Literature/Writing. From there, I received my Master's Degree in Adolescence Education with an emphasis on English Language Arts. Additionally, I took college courses to become a special education teacher. I hold NYS teaching certificates in Students
with Disabilities Grades 1 - 6 and Students with Disabilities Grades 7 - 12. I have been a special education teacher for the last five years. Before that I worked as a teaching assistant and a 1:1 aide.

As a teacher, I work one-on-one with my students to give them the targeted assistance that they need. Generally, my lessons will target grades 5 through 8, in the core subjects of English, Math, Science, and Social Studies. I like to focus particularly on strengthening a student's skills with writing as this is an area in which many students struggle.
