About Kazumi

Hi, I'm Kazumi, a native Japanese speaker from Kanagawa, Japan.

My teaching style is simple: patient, encouraging, and built around you. Every student learns differently, so I pay close attention to how you respond. I notice when something clicks and when it needs another explanation, and I adjust my approach in the moment. If one explanation doesn't work, I'll find another way, with a new example, a demonstration, or a comparison to English that makes it clear.

I believe the best way to learn is to use Japanese right away. My lessons focus on real conversation and practical phrases, so you start speaking from the very first lesson, not just memorizing rules. Mistakes are always welcome, because they show me exactly where to help and they build your confidence faster.

I'm also very organized. I'm always on time and prepared, and after every session I send a short summary. I create custom handouts and quizzes so you can keep practicing between lessons. When you want to go deeper, I'll share extra resources on the topics that interest you most.

Most of all, I want learning Japanese to be something you look forward to. My goal is for you to leave every session understanding more, speaking more, and excited for the next one.

HOW LESSONS WORK
1. Free 30-minute first lesson: We talk about your goals, check your current level, and create a plan built around what you want to achieve.
2. Every lesson: We start with a relaxed warm-up conversation, work on one focused topic (grammar, vocabulary, or real phrases from anime and travel), then practice speaking and listening so it sticks.

**Cancellation Policy**
To respect both of our time, cancellations or rescheduling requests must be made at least 24 hours in advance of the scheduled session. Cancellations made within 24 hours will incur a fee equal to 50% of the lesson cost. However, if you need to cancel, you’re welcome to reschedule the session to another day within the same week to avoid the cancellation fee. Thank you for your understanding and for helping me maintain a smooth and organized schedule!
