About Nina

Hello! I’m a French tutor with over 4 years of experience and a Bachelor of Arts in French and Francophone Studies. I specialize in helping high school and university students who find French grammar and essay writing challenging. My approach is creative, supportive, and focused on making the language feel accessible. I break down complex grammar rules into simple, manageable steps that actually make sense. Instead of memorizing, we focus on understanding how the language works and why. This makes it easier for students to build a strong foundation and apply grammar correctly in writing and speech. I also help students write essays that are clear, expressive, and well-structured. We work together on planning, vocabulary building, and editing, always with a focus on improving their voice and confidence. I bring my love for French poetry, history, and literature into lessons to add depth and spark curiosity. I believe that with the right support, every student can succeed and even enjoy learning French. Watching students grow from frustration to confidence is the most rewarding part of what I do. About the lesson

My teaching approach for French is practical, engaging, and focused on real-life use. I help learners feel comfortable with the language by starting with everyday conversations and useful expressions. We work on pronunciation through regular drills that include listening, repeating, and speaking aloud to build muscle memory and confidence. I introduce regional accents and variations early on, so students become familiar with how French is spoken in different parts of the world.

Lessons include simple dialogues, role-playing, and situation-based practice like ordering food, asking for directions, or making travel plans. I focus on vocabulary retention using visuals, spaced repetition tools, and regular review games. Grammar is taught in context, not in isolation, so it feels natural and connected to what you’re saying.

I support learners who want to reconnect with their cultural roots or travel with ease, helping them speak clearly and confidently. Whether you are starting from scratch or picking up where you left off, I adjust the lessons to fit your pace. I also use songs, short stories, and cultural content to make learning fun and memorable. Listening and speaking are key parts of every session. Reading and writing come in gradually, reinforcing what we learn through speaking.
