About Lena
"Beginners often find that the sound of a new language feels like music vibrating in the back of their throat. My work involves guiding you through role play and dialogue practice, travel Spanish, cultural context, and Latin American vs Castilian variants.
I rely on my 11 years of experience to simplify complex concepts like accent and intonation or exam preparation for the DELE. My background also covers writing skills, listening practice, idioms and expressions, and pronunciation. Having taught 168 students, I find that a gentle pace works best for steady improvement. "Most people struggle with the verb tenses and honestly, it is usually just a matter of finding the right perspective. Since I hold a BMus Music Performance from the Queensland Conservatorium, I understand how to break down complex patterns into manageable pieces for your brain to process. We will look at your pronunciation and accent while using my personal vocabulary and grammar notes which are available for free. You can expect to cover listening practice and writing skills during our time together.
We will also touch upon cultural context and idioms to make your speech sound more authentic. The lessons focus on making you comfortable enough to speak without constantly worrying about making mistakes.
I find that building this comfort is the fastest way to get you speaking fluently. The 10.0 out of 10 feedback I receive often highlights how much easier the grammar becomes with these methods. My goal is to keep things practical so you can use what you learn immediately. I look forward to sharing these resources with you as we work through your goals."
