About Aura

Hola, I’m Aura — a Spanish teacher and curriculum designer based in New York City and originally from Bogota, Colombia.

I work with students who want more than memorized phrases. My goal is to help you understand how Spanish works, so you can use it with confidence in real situations — whether that’s travel, daily life, or reconnecting with language and culture.

Through my teaching experience, I’ve developed my own structured, visual curriculum that supports learners who:

• feel overwhelmed by traditional grammar explanations

• learn best when patterns are clearly shown

• want intentional pacing and clarity

• value cultural context alongside language

My lessons are thoughtful, practical, and grounded in real communication — not rushed drills.

I believe clarity builds confidence.

In my lessons, we:

• break Spanish into understandable patterns

• focus on pronunciation, literacy, and grammar foundations

• use visual tools and structured explanations

• connect language to real-world use and cultural context

I adapt lessons to each student, but they are always guided by a clear structure so you can see progress and understand why things work the way they do.

This first lesson offered with Aura will allow you to get to know each other and clearly specify your needs for your next lessons.

Details

The 30 minute "free lesson", specified above, is actually a discovery call that will allow us to get to know each other and determine if this is a good fit for both of us.

In the event that we need to reschedule our weekly lesson, there will be a $25 rescheduling fee added to the total cost.

If our lesson for the week is cancelled, there will be a mandatory cancellation fee of $50.
