About Gabrielle

Currently, I am gaining my masters in art of education at Clark University. It is a highly rigorous program distinguished by the state for producing excellent teachers who implement best practice and pedagogy in their curriculum. I have been learning Spanish since the third grade and did my study abroad in Spain during my bachelors. Although I am not a native speaker, it gives me the advantage to know what it is like to learn a language (Spanish) as a second language. This allows me to adhere my curriculum in a personalized manner because I am aware each student learns differently. I value student centeredness and culturally responsive learning in my teaching.

I love Spanish and more so I love teaching. I consider myself a patient and passionate teacher who deeply cares about the academic development and social well-being of my students. It is important to me that my students feel safe, heard and respected so our classroom can be a positive, productive environment.

About the lesson

My lessons would be personalized because I do recognize that each student learns differently with different abilities. My lesson plans would aim to be engaging, interactive and maintain student centeredness. My lessons would be planned with not only content but most importantly culture in mind. Especially with languages, it is essential to connect the objectives of the lesson to everyday use of the language. This is how I learned best, when my teachers made connections of the objectives to real world applications. My lessons would be personalized based on knowledge background, learning style and personal learning goals. Additionally, I aim to work with my students to hear how they learn best and what they wish to receive from the class in order to build my lesson plans. I value collaboration in addition to holding high expectations of my students to ensure my students are successful.
