About Aroa

¡Hola! I'm a Spanish teacher from Spain with a Master's degree in Spanish as a Foreign Language and more than 12 years of experience teaching Spanish internationally.

I've taught in Spain, the UK, China and Hong Kong, working with students of all ages and backgrounds.

I now offer face-to-face Spanish lessons in Sheffield and online lessons throughout the UK.

I mainly work with students aged 12–16 studying GCSE and A-Level Spanish, as well as adults of all ages who want to improve their conversational Spanish.
I've been teaching Spanish for more than 12 years and have worked in private academies, schools, universities and NGOs.

I've taught everyone from 2-year-olds to adults in their 60s, so I'm very comfortable adapting my teaching style to different ages and personalities.

Before becoming a teacher, I studied Audiovisual Communication and worked as a photographer. I still bring that creative side into my teaching by creating engaging and visual learning materials.

About the lesson

Why learn with me?

I don't believe that everyone should learn Spanish in exactly the same way.

Some students need grammar explained clearly. Others understand grammar perfectly but freeze when they have to speak!

Some want to improve their school results, while others simply want to be able to order tapas, chat with locals and enjoy their holidays in Spain without worrying about making mistakes.

That's why I create lessons around you, your interests and your goals.

Want to speak Spanish but don't have anyone to practise with?

That's where I can help!

My conversation lessons are relaxed and centred around topics that genuinely interest you.

We might talk about Spanish culture, travelling, food, films, music, current affairs, hobbies, work or everyday life.

I'll help you expand your vocabulary, improve your pronunciation and express yourself more naturally.

And don't worry about making mistakes — you can't learn to speak a language without making a few!

DELE preparation

I have a specialist qualification and experience that I am particularly proud of.

I am an official DELE examiner for all levels, including school-level examinations, and spent three years working with the Instituto Cervantes in Hong Kong, examining hundreds of students.

I can therefore help you prepare specifically for:

DELE A1 – A2 – B1 – B2 – C1 – C2

We can practise all four areas of the examination:

Speaking | Writing | Reading | Listening

I'll help you understand what is expected at your level, identify areas that need improvement and develop your confidence and exam technique.

I use a communicative approach and believe that lessons should be varied and enjoyable.
