About Kulamini
Hello, I’m Kulamini, a Software Engineering graduate (with Distinction) and a final-year undergraduate in BSc Applied Sciences, specializing in Double Mathematics. I have a strong academic background in both Mathematics and Computing, and I am passionate about helping students truly understand what they learn.
Throughout my academic journey, I have consistently achieved high results and have been recognized for academic excellence. My studies in advanced Mathematics alongside Software Engineering have given me a solid foundation in logical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical reasoning—skills that I bring into every lesson I teach.
I approach tutoring with professionalism, patience, and responsibility. I understand that every student learns differently, and I take the time to explain concepts clearly, step by step, until they make sense. My goal is not just to help students complete homework or pass exams, but to build confidence, independence, and a strong understanding of the subject.
In addition to my academic background, I have experience working closely with both peers and academic staff through leadership roles during my degree, which has strengthened my communication skills and sense of accountability.
As a tutor, I am committed to creating a supportive and respectful learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and improving at their own pace. I take my role seriously and aim to provide reliable, high-quality guidance to every student I work with.

My teaching approach and how I share my knowledge
Hello, I’m Kulamini, a Software Engineering graduate (with Distinction) and a final-year BSc Applied Sciences undergraduate specializing in Double Mathematics. My teaching approach is student-centered, structured, and focused on building real understanding, not memorization.
My teaching method and techniques
I believe every student can understand Maths and IT when concepts are explained clearly and logically. I begin by identifying the student’s current level, learning style, and goals. I then break down complex ideas into simple steps, using practical examples, visual explanations, and real-life applications—especially important for Maths and computing-related subjects.
I encourage questions at every stage and adjust my pace to suit the student. For exam-focused students, I place strong emphasis on problem-solving techniques and past-paper practice. For conceptual learners, I focus on *why* formulas and methods work.
A typical lesson plan
A typical lesson is structured but flexible:
1.Quick review of previous concepts
2.Introduction of new material with clear explanations
3.Worked examples done together
4.Guided practice by the student
5.Short recap and clarification of doubts
If required, I also provide additional practice questions and revision strategies.
What sets me apart as a tutor
What sets me apart is my strong academic background in both Mathematics and Computing, combined with patience and clarity. Having studied advanced Maths alongside Software Engineering, I understand how students think and where they usually struggle. I focus on building confidence, logical thinking, and independent problem-solving skills.
I also have leadership experience as a Batch Representative, which has strengthened my communication skills and ability to explain ideas clearly to different types of learners.
Who my lessons are for
My lessons are suitable for:
1.School students (upper grades) studying Mathematics or IT
2.A/L students needing strong conceptual clarity
3.Undergraduate students studying Maths, Computing, or IT-related subjects
4.Beginners who want patient, step-by-step explanations
5.Students preparing for exams or needing academic support
I aim to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and steadily improving their skills.
