About Gordon

With over 14 years of high-level soccer experience, I bring a deep understanding of the game, leadership, and a lifelong passion for teaching it to others. I was a college-recruited athlete, the founder of the club soccer team at Chapman University, and captain of numerous competitive teams throughout my career. These experiences have shaped not only how I play but how I coach—with intention, clarity, and purpose. As a tutor and coach, I take a structured yet flexible approach tailored to each player's individual goals, skill level, and learning style. Whether you’re just beginning your soccer journey or preparing for club tryouts or college recruitment, I meet you where you are and help you grow from there. Each session blends technical development, tactical awareness, physical conditioning, and mental resilience. I focus on building foundational skills like ball control, passing, and shooting, while also diving into more advanced elements like positioning, decision-making, and field vision. My goal is to help players improve not just their performance, but also their confidence, leadership, and love for the game. What sets me apart is the combination of elite playing experience and a genuine commitment to mentorship. As a team captain and club founder, I understand the importance of communication, discipline, and building a strong mindset—both on and off the field. I specialize in coaching players aged 10–18, from beginners learning fundamentals to advanced athletes aiming for competitive club or college soccer. My teaching style is patient, supportive, and motivating—I push players to improve while making sure they enjoy the process. Above all, I believe in helping players learn the game in a way that builds confidence and courage. I want every student to feel proud of their progress, unafraid to make mistakes, and excited to keep learning. Soccer is more than a sport—it’s a powerful way to grow, challenge yourself, and develop skills that last a lifetime.

About the lesson

My Approach as a Soccer Tutor I use a player-focused, hands-on teaching method that combines technical drills, tactical instruction, and real-game scenarios. I believe in building confidence through repetition, personalized feedback, and clear progression. My sessions are structured to be both challenging and motivating. Teaching Method & Techniques I focus on fundamentals such as passing, shooting, dribbling, and positioning, complemented by situational awareness, decision-making, and physical fitness. I tailor each session to the player’s position, skill level, and goals—whether they’re learning basics or refining advanced techniques. Typical Lesson Plan (60 minutes) Warm-Up & Ball Mastery (10 mins) Focused Technical Work (20 mins) Tactical Situations or Decision-Based Drills (20 mins) Cool Down, Review, and Next Steps (10 mins) What Sets Me Apart I bring 14 years of elite playing experience, including being a college recruit and club founder at Chapman University.
