About Lou

As a passionate Spanish tutor with 9 years of professional experience, I have taught around 150–200 students of all levels, helping them achieve confidence and fluency through personalised instruction. I believe successful language learning begins with understanding each student's individual needs, so I carefully tailor every lesson to support their goals and learning pace.

My teaching approach develops grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, reading, writing, listening, and speaking through practical communication and engaging activities. I use discussions, role-playing, pronunciation practice, interactive exercises, and cultural topics to help students experience Spanish in meaningful and enjoyable ways.

My Spanish teaching philosophy focuses on creating lessons that are meaningful, interactive, and student-focused. Accountability helps learners take responsibility for their learning, set goals, and track progress consistently. Integrity guarantees lessons are honest, fair, and tailored to each student’s abilities and learning style.

I value Flexibility, adapting lesson content, exercises, and methods to accommodate different learning styles, proficiency levels, and interests. Communication is at the heart of my approach; I encourage discussion, conversation, and interactive exercises to help students internalise vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation.

A Positive learning environment motivates learners, celebrates achievements, and fosters confidence. I also integrate related subjects such as grammar, literature, vocabulary, and cultural studies to provide context, deepen understanding, and support real-world application. My goal is to help students become confident, fluent, and motivated Spanish speakers.
