About Lana

I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and have nine years of experience teaching and developing software. My fascination with programming began with the realisation that a few lines of code could produce powerful outcomes, and over time, this evolved into a lifelong passion for technology and education. Teaching allows me to share this passion, helping students gain both technical expertise and the confidence to innovate independently. I approach teaching with patience, adaptability, and an emphasis on clarity. Every learner processes information differently, so I adjust my methods to match individual needs, fostering both competence and confidence. I guide students through challenges, encouraging experimentation while reinforcing a strong conceptual foundation. Beyond the classroom, I actively engage in personal projects, explore emerging programming trends, and participate in professional development to maintain an up-to-date perspective. This continuous growth allows me to integrate modern tools and practices into lessons. About the lesson

Computer programming is a dynamic discipline that combines logical reasoning, creativity, and problem-solving skills to transform abstract ideas into tangible applications. My lessons focus on helping students understand the principles behind coding, encouraging them to think systematically and approach challenges analytically. I create a structured yet flexible environment that supports exploration, experimentation, and learning through trial and error. Students gain a solid foundation in coding logic, syntax, and algorithmic thinking from the very beginning. I emphasise clarity, persistence, and conceptual understanding over rote memorisation, ensuring students internalise skills that will serve them in real-world programming scenarios. Students progress from the basics of variables, loops, and conditional statements to more advanced concepts such as object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms. Intermediate learners work on functional programs, modular design, and debugging techniques, while advanced students build full-scale applications, explore APIs, and optimise system performance. I integrate project-based learning and practical exercises that reinforce logical reasoning and strengthen problem-solving capabilities. Each session is tailored to the learner’s pace, goals, and interests, making programming both engaging and deeply educational. At the highest level, programming becomes a tool for innovation, creativity, and independence. Students develop resilience and critical thinking, learning to approach complex problems systematically and with confidence.
