About Ivy
I’m a singing tutor with over 10 years of experience and a Licentiate of Music in Voice. I specialize in working with adult beginners, hobbyists, and anyone returning to singing after a break. My lessons are designed to be low-pressure and encouraging, so you feel comfortable and confident as you learn. I focus on breathwork, vocal relaxation, and posture to help you sing with ease. Mindfulness in music and tone development are also key parts of my teaching. I enjoy guiding students through genres like Jazz, Folk, Blues, and Contemporary Adult styles. Singing is more than just technique—it’s a form of self-care, creativity, and a way to build confidence. I’m passionate about helping people discover these benefits in their own voices. Whether you’re starting fresh or picking up where you left off, my goal is to make your journey enjoyable and rewarding. No matter your age, it’s never too late to explore your singing potential. My singing lessons focus on building strong music literacy and sight-singing skills for both orchestra members and crossover artists. We start with learning how to read musical notation clearly. This helps you understand the language of music and prepares you to sing confidently. Interval training is an important part of the process. It improves your ability to recognize and sing the distance between notes accurately.
Rhythm exercises keep your timing steady and make your singing more precise. Harmony building helps you blend your voice with others and understand musical layers. Each of these skills grows with steady practice and a strong connection between your ear, mind, and voice. I use sight-singing apps and rhythm trainers to make learning interactive and fun. Notation tools also support your progress by helping you visualize the music.
For orchestra members, this approach improves your ability to perform complex pieces with confidence. For crossover artists, it supports versatility and creativity across different styles. Together, we build skills step by step, always encouraging your growth. With patience and practice, you’ll find your singing becomes more accurate and expressive every day.
