About Otis
I’m a singing tutor with over 5 years of experience and a Bachelor of Arts in Ethnomusicology, specializing in Vocal Traditions. My passion lies in vocal arrangement, harmony stacking, and crafting rich, textured vocal layers—whether for group singing or multi-tracked recordings. I love helping singers explore the beauty of vocal blending, counter-melodies, and creative arranging techniques. I teach a wide variety of styles, including A Cappella, Pop, Gospel, and R\&B, always encouraging students to develop their own sound within each genre. My lessons are tailored for school students, college learners, and aspiring professionals who want to elevate their vocal and musical skills. We work on everything from improvisation and vocal production to composition and music history, using both traditional methods and modern music technology. I also guide students in using recording tools to capture their harmonies and shape their unique vocal arrangements. Whether you're preparing for performance, recording projects, or just singing for joy, I create a space where exploration and creativity are at the center. My singing teaching approach focuses on building confident, well-prepared performers through personalized and supportive training. I help students grow their vocal technique while also guiding them through the full experience of preparing for the stage. Whether you’re just starting or aiming for auditions, I shape each lesson around your unique voice and goals.
We work on breath control, pitch accuracy, and tone quality to build a strong vocal foundation. I place a special focus on audition preparation—teaching how to select the right repertoire, present yourself clearly, and deliver your best under pressure. I also include tools for managing performance anxiety so you can feel calm and focused on stage.
Lessons include exercises for stage presence, storytelling through song, and connecting emotionally with your material. I push students to reach their full potential with encouragement and honest feedback. I’ve helped beginners find their voice and advanced singers shine in auditions, recitals, and live settings.
Every session combines technique with expression, discipline with creativity. My goal is to help you perform with confidence, clarity, and joy. We'll get you ready to impress—and more importantly, to enjoy the process of sharing your voice.
