About Freya
I am a singing tutor with more than 13 years of experience, specializing in teaching college students. My approach combines technical skill development with creative exploration. I focus on breath control, pitch accuracy, vocal tone, and expressive performance, helping students sing confidently and passionately.
I bring innovation to my lessons through exercises like vocal improvisation, recording feedback, and practical song analysis. Each lesson is customized to the student’s pace, strengths, and goals, ensuring learning is effective and engaging.
Performance preparation is a core part of my teaching. I guide students in stage presence, expressive interpretation, and building confidence for recitals, auditions, and competitions. Music theory and ear training are also included to provide a strong foundation.
I encourage students to explore different genres and discover their personal style. Over the 13 years, I have helped students grow technically, creatively, and emotionally as singers.
My teaching philosophy emphasizes creativity, patience, and accountability. I aim to make every lesson motivating, enjoyable, and transformative, helping students become confident, expressive, and skilled performers.

My teaching approach to Singing is student-centered, structured, and encouraging. I believe strong communication is essential for effective vocal training. I clearly explain vocal techniques such as breathing control, pitch accuracy, tone quality, and voice projection in a way that is easy to understand. I take time to listen to each student, understand their challenges, and adapt my teaching style to suit their learning pace. This open communication helps students feel confident and motivated throughout their learning journey.
Creativity plays a vital role in my singing lessons. I use creative vocal warm-ups, expressive exercises, and song interpretation techniques to help students explore their natural voice. Students are encouraged to experiment with different singing styles and express emotions freely while maintaining proper vocal technique. This creative approach helps them develop confidence and individuality in their singing.
Cultural sensitivity is deeply respected in my teaching. Singing is closely connected to culture and personal identity, so I welcome songs from different languages, traditions, and backgrounds. I help students understand the cultural meaning and emotion behind each song, creating a respectful and inclusive learning environment.
Accountability is maintained through clear goal setting, regular practice routines, and continuous feedback. I track student progress and guide improvement step by step. Along with singing, I also teach music theory basics, ear training, rhythm practice, and voice care to support complete vocal development."
