About Claire

Hi! My name is Claire. Nice to meet you!

I am a Canadian singer recently transplanted to Adelaide. I've been passionate about music all my life. I've sung solo and in choirs, and play a range of instruments like flute, piano, and bass guitar.

I have technical training in Classical, Jazz, Pop, and Choral voice, as well as music theory. I completed my grade nine Royal Conservatory of Music exams in Voice (Canada) and have sung in chamber and church choirs in Canada and the UK. I also have extensive teaching and coaching experience in music, writing and figure skating!

I write and record alternative/indie/art-pop music. My favourite singers and inspirations are diverse - from Fiona Apple and Julia Jacklin to Nana Mouskouri and Esparanza Spalding. Whatever genre you're into - I'm probably into it too!

I graduated with an Honours Political Studies degree from Queen's University in Canada in 2021 - because it's always good to be well-rounded!

About the lesson

My teaching philosophy is grounded in sharing my passion for singing with others.

Singing can boost confidence and add beautiful colour to your life, no matter your age. I start with the basics and work with my students at their pace, with individual lesson plans geared towards your goals and experience, including:

- Technical vocal skills across genres
- Music reading
- Basic music theory
- Vocal health
- Basic piano skills

I am available for 30 to 60 minute sessions. My lessons are open to all ages and abilities. My at-home studio in Welland, SA is welcoming and comfortable. Online sessions are also available.
