About Lucy
I am a peer or near-peer tutor. I myself am a senior in college so I am close enough in age to my students that I can develop comfortable relationships with my students that foster vulnerability and growth. I have been tutoring since I was in fifth grade and I have gained professional teaching experience through Teach for America and AmeriCorps. I will be continuing my journey in education as an Teach for America corp member after I graduate.

I meet my students where they are. In math, I find it helpful to use the student's homework as a guide to my lesson and tailor my instruction/help to the areas of need that I notice. I know that my students have mastered a concept when they can clearly teach me what they've learned.
