About Lily

Hi! I’m Lily Lu, a Grade 12 student currently taking AP English Language and Composition. I’ve always loved writing — whether it’s crafting essays, analyzing literature, or helping others find their unique voice through words. Over the years, I’ve developed a strong foundation in reading comprehension, rhetorical analysis, and creative writing, and I’m passionate about making English feel approachable and empowering for students. As someone who’s worked on everything from academic essays to real-world writing like cover letters and professional emails, I focus on helping students build skills they can use both in school and beyond. Also, I am fluent in Mandarin as well to help with translation. My approach is patient, encouraging, and tailored — I meet each student where they are and help them grow confidence in expressing their ideas clearly and authentically. Outside of tutoring, I’m deeply involved in leadership, entrepreneurship, and music, which shape my creative and adaptable teaching style. Whether you’re preparing for English class, improving your writing, or simply wanting to express yourself better, I’d love to help you get there.

About the lesson

My lessons are designed for middle, high school students, or newcomers who want to strengthen their reading, writing, and critical thinking skills — whether for school essays, creative writing, or real-world communication. What I Teach: - Essay structure, analysis, and argumentation (for English or humanities classes) - Reading comprehension and literary analysis - Grammar, clarity, and writing style improvement - Cover letters, email writing, and professional communication skills - Creative writing and self-expression (I could also have a different plan if you're looking for pure essay editing) Each lesson is tailored to your goals — from improving grades and confidence in class to building writing skills you’ll use for life. I make sessions engaging, encouraging, and practical, helping students write with both structure and voice.
