About Katherine
As a pre-professional teacher, professionalism has been instilled in me the past few years. I value being on time, and looking at the whole child, not just test scores.
I believe that one of the best ways to show you know something, is to teach it, and so I will model what it means to be professional, responsibly, and courteous to every one of my students. Mistakes happen, and it is more important to grow and learn from them, rather than dwell.
I use representational children's literature in my lessons, because I believe that having a solid example is important when learning anything, especially when learning how to act in professional situations. I have examples around me, and I promise to be an example for your student.

Hello!
My name is Katherine, and I am beyond thrilled to tutor again. As a senior in my program, I am being tasked with using evidence-based strategies when teaching all subjects, and looking at best practices for both elementary education and special education. Additionally, having completed the coursework required for an add-on licensure in gifted education, I would be excited to work with elementary students identified as gifted, as well as those identified with a disability.
A typical lesson with me would consist of review, and online tools to help guide student learning. I value allowing students multiple pathways to an answer, and believe that if given the right supports, every child can learn.
