About Sebastian (he they)
Hi, I’m Sebastian Key and I have over 9 years of experience as a front-end engineer, specialising in React, TypeScript, Tailwinds CSS, Storybook and Design Systems.
I work best with folks who are creative, passionate about design, and are wanting to focus on front-end. I worked for 4+ years at a fast paced San Francisco based startup where we grew from 3 engineers to 30+. I have experience in both creating and partaking in technical FE interviews.
I’ve worked with a variety of companies, from large enterprises like Lexus Australia—where I contributed to their official design system, LexusKit—to early-stage international startups like Raydiant (San Francisco based), which grew from 5 to over 30 engineers during my time there.
I’ve worked closely with designers and engineers to build accessible, scalable interfaces across startups and large teams. I’ve mentored students and regularly support junior/mid devs with code reviews, career guidance, and practical advice.
Being neurodivergent, I know what it’s like when standard study methods don’t click. I teach with patience, clear structure and sensory-friendly strategies that make complex topics easier to digest.

- Experience mentoring developers in component-driven development and UI best practices. - Graduate Diploma in Computing (RMIT) + Bachelor of Science (Mathematics, RMIT).
