About Lawrence

I love my job as an Animator, but I also love to teach. Being able to Animate every day fulfils my creative itch, but a big passion of mine and something that I enjoy greatly is passing on knowledge and seeing others grow with that. I’ve considered taking the Youtube route and posting informative videos online through that platform, but talking into a camera with no one on the other end just isn’t the same. I enjoy the immediate feedback and reactions I get with my students as it also helps myself to grow.

About the lesson

Want to learn how to animate but don't know where to start? I’ve got you. I’m currently teaching 2 first year classes at Sydney’s UTS, with the majority of student having come straight out of high school. I have several years of experience in covering the fundamentals of Animation in Maya with students from the ages 14 and up.

In uni or college already and looking for a bit of help with your big end of year short film? I’ve got you. Having completed a short film myself for my college end of year project, I know the reality of working on these group projects and the expectations of the teachers.

Need help polishing up that showreel to get that new job? I’ve got you. I have certainly been there my friend. There’s so many contradicting suggestions out there, which ones to follow? Being a full time Lead Animator at a studio as well as having freelanced at many other TV and Film Studios over the last 10 years, I can help guide you in the right direction.
