About Chris
I have made music my entire life, starting on guitar then taking up piano in college and fell in love with the instrument, progressing faster than I ever had with guitar. Being self-taught on piano means that I took my own unique, efficient methodology for learning to play and I believe everyone can do the same with practice and dedication.
I also play an assortment of other instruments including ukulele, violin, kalimba, harmonica, and didgeridoo.

I have a non-traditional approach which many students and parents have praised as more accessible, engaging, and entertaining than other teaching methods.
I begin with theory and technique fundamentals; you should be able to improvise a song by the end of our first lesson. We will learn to create unique melodies and chord progressions, explore the keyboard at your leisure, and read/write sheet music. We will also be learning new songs and classical pieces of your choice, refining and perfecting them, and borrowing ideas and techniques from them to implement into your own compositions and improvisations.
Lessons are typically 30-60 minutes.
I have taught at a music studio for three years and only recently began freelancing last year. I am self-taught, performing regularly at Duke hospital and live on Twitch.
My lessons are for kids, teens, and adults. I have a particular course and methodology for each age range, but the concepts taught are all essentially the same.
