About Annie
I’m a Secondary School Cover Supervisor who is passionate about helping young people discover that they are capable of more than they sometimes believe.
Working in a secondary school has given me experience supporting students with a wide range of abilities, backgrounds and individual needs, including SEN, SEND and LAC students. I work in a particularly challenging school environment, which has taught me that patience, understanding and strong relationships can make a huge difference to a young person’s confidence and progress.
I want to tutor because I believe that every student deserves to feel understood, supported and capable of succeeding. Sometimes a student doesn’t need someone to simply tell them the answer. They need someone to explain it differently, give them the confidence to try again, and recognise the progress they are making.
I particularly enjoy seeing the moment when something finally clicks, or when a student who once said, “I can’t do this,” realises that they actually can.
My approach is friendly, patient and personalised. I want my students to feel comfortable being themselves, asking questions and making mistakes, because that’s how we learn.
For me, tutoring isn’t simply about improving grades. It’s about helping students develop the skills, confidence and belief in themselves that they can carry with them far beyond the classroom.

My Approach to Tutoring
My lessons are centred around you. Everyone learns differently, so I don’t believe in taking a one-size-fits-all approach to tutoring.
I want you to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and taking your time to understand something properly. We will work together to identify what you find difficult, build on what you already know and gradually develop your confidence.
As a secondary school educator, I understand that English can sometimes feel overwhelming, particularly when you’re unsure what an exam question is actually asking or how to turn your ideas into a strong answer. I break things down into manageable steps and explain them in a way that makes sense to you.
Lessons can be adapted around your goals, whether you want to improve your grades, prepare for GCSEs, strengthen your reading and writing skills, or simply become more confident in English.
Most importantly, I want you to leave each lesson feeling that you’ve achieved something. My aim isn’t just to teach you English, but to help you become a more confident, independent learner who believes they are capable of succeeding.
