About Isabel
I currently teach MS/US Humanities at the Gifft Hill School on the Caribbean island of St. John, US Virgin Islands. I was a 2016 TFA Corps Member in the Greater New Orleans Region, where I taught 4th Grade ELA for ReNEW Schools Charter Management Organization. I graduated from Wesleyan University in May, 2016.

In my classroom, students are challenged to improve their skills in reading, writing, grammar, spelling, vocabulary, speaking, and listening. Classes are largely discussion-based, as I typically employ a Socratic Seminar-style method of instruction. My goal is to build students' literacy skills in reading comprehension and fluency, and be familiar with various forms of writing and critical analysis. As much as possible, I like to create student-driven, individualized curriculum, for I believe students learn best when the content is interesting to them!
