About Eleena

I am a first-year student at Conestoga College completing a diploma in business. I've been tutoring since I started high school in 2016. I kept an above-90 average all through secondary school, taking mostly science and math courses, as well as keeping up with extracurriculars such as field hockey, boxing, and arts. I love animals, art, and video games!

My teaching methodology involves working with the student to figure out how they learn best, and follow their style of learning to ensure they understand the material. I will help them work through homework and test review, taking extra time to focus on the material that they're having trouble with. I work well with students with learning disabilities and other difficulties in school.

  • 1. When and why did you develop an interest in your chosen field?

I've always had an interest in it, maths and sciences come easy to me since I'm very left brain-oriented and I like the logic of these subjects. As for French, I was taught both English and French at an early age, so I'm bilingual and love to share my knowledge of the French language with others.
  • 2. What makes you passionate about your subject?

Science and math help to explain the way the world works, and I think that's really important, and enlightening. French is just a beautiful language!
  • 3. What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a "Superprof"?

I love being able to share my knowledge of the world with others and watching them slowly learn and understand things more as I work with them.
  • 4. Do you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?

I've had numerous teachers who inspired me throughout my education, but especially my physics and chemistry teachers in eleventh grade. My physics teacher, M. Bausmer, pushed me to be the strongest I could be, and challenged me in every way he could. He supported me outside of school when I was going through some tough times, and made sure that I always had everything I needed. My chemistry teacher, Mrs. Clifford, was the one to really get me interested in chemistry and she's the reason I'm starting a chemical engineering program at Queen's University this year. She recently finished her final chemotherapy treatment due to breast cancer and she's always inspired me as a woman in science and a strong educational figure.
  • 5. What are your keys to success?

My keys to success would be perseverance and organization. I'm one of those people who keep really detailed, colourful notes, and has a planner and calendar on hand at all times, and I find it really helps me succeed in school, and in life. As for perseverance, I've had to show a lot of it since I came from a tough spot in life and have once again found myself in a tough spot, but I know I have to keep my head up.
