About Zen

Hi, I’m Zen, an aspiring primary school tutor who is passionate about helping students build strong foundations and confidence in their learning. I believe every child can do well with the right guidance, patience, and encouragement. My teaching style focuses on breaking down concepts into simple, easy-to-understand steps and creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning from mistakes. Having achieved straight As at the A-Levels and received the NUS Business Global Merit Scholarship, I understand the value of strong fundamentals from a young age. My goal is to make learning enjoyable, boost confidence, and help students reach their full potential.

About the lesson

During my lessons, students are encouraged to ask any questions they may have from school. Beyond that, I conduct structured and personalised lessons designed to strengthen their understanding of key concepts and build a strong academic foundation. I focus on helping students truly understand what they are learning rather than relying solely on memorisation. By breaking concepts down into simple, relatable explanations, students become more engaged and develop the confidence to apply their knowledge to different types of questions. To further support their learning, students will have access to my carefully curated notes, worksheets, and practice materials, which are designed to reinforce concepts and help them achieve their academic goals.

Zen was my son’s tutor in secondary 4. At that point, just 3 months before O levels, my son was really struggling in his chemistry. That’s when I found Zen through another tutor who recommended Zen. Thanks to Zen, my son improved greatly and ended up with a B grade in his O levels. Do highly recommend him if your kids find chemistry challenging, as he’s very patient and provides good resources.
