About Md Ashraful Islam
My name is Md Ashraful Islam. I hold an M.S. in Statistics and a Ph.D. in Veterinary Science from the University of Wyoming. During my graduate studies, I served as a teaching assistant for Fundamentals of Statistics, where I guided laboratory sessions, explained statistical concepts, graded assignments, and helped students strengthen their problem-solving skills.
My research background has given me extensive experience with mathematics, probability, R programming, data visualization, and applied statistical modeling. Because I use these subjects in real scientific research, I can help students understand both the theory and its practical applications.
I recognize that many students feel anxious or discouraged when studying mathematics and statistics. My approach is patient, respectful, and free of judgment. Students are encouraged to ask questions, revisit difficult concepts, and learn at a pace that works for them. I prepare carefully for every lesson and adapt the material to each student’s course, current ability, and academic goals.
Students can expect clear communication, punctuality, honest feedback, and a professional learning environment. My goal is not simply to help students complete an assignment. I want them to build the confidence and understanding needed to solve similar problems independently.

My name is Md Ashraful Islam. I hold an M.S. in Statistics and a Ph.D. in Veterinary Science, and I have university-level teaching and research experience. My goal is to make mathematics and statistics understandable by explaining not only how to solve a problem, but also why each method works.
I adapt my teaching to each student’s background, learning pace, and goals. I use clear explanations, visual examples, real-world applications, and step-by-step problem solving. When appropriate, I also use R to show how statistical concepts are applied to real data. I encourage questions and create a supportive environment where students can work through mistakes without feeling discouraged.
A typical lesson begins with a brief review and an assessment of the student’s current understanding. I then introduce the main concept, demonstrate several examples, and guide the student through similar problems. The student next completes problems more independently while I provide feedback. We finish by reviewing the key ideas, addressing remaining questions, and identifying what to practice before the next lesson.
What sets me apart is my combination of statistical training, scientific research experience, and practical data-analysis skills. I can connect mathematical theory with meaningful applications and explain complex ideas in approachable language.
My lessons are suitable for middle and high school students studying mathematics or algebra; college students taking statistics, probability, or introductory data-analysis courses; and graduate students or researchers who need support with R, statistical modeling, or interpreting results.
