About Thamanna

I am a dedicated and committed candidate in developing my career in education. I am currently studying for Level 3 Teaching Assistant, Level 3 in Understanding Autism & Level 3 SEN Certificates, which is due to finish in February 2021.

Whilst completing my Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, I have worked at Newman RC College working in a 1:1 and within a classroom setting, alongside the class teacher, with SEN and LAC pupils. I have worked with students aged 11 – 16, covering KS3 and GCSE content. I have offered extra support in Maths, Science and English, working on their literature and algebra skills mainly, as these were topics that pupils struggled with the most. Alongside this I kept up to date with my pupil’s progress by filling out Review Reports every half term and passing these on to another member of staff, who then would pass information on to the pupil’s parents. Also, I have created my own resources for Maths and Science that were best suited for her students and would differentiate these if I needed to, for students. During my one year working as a YipiYap In – School Tutor, I was observed by OFSTED, in a 1-2-1 session and they were impressed at the level of support that the pupil received by having me as their tutor.

About the lesson

My teaching method requires communicating with the student and finding out what they’re struggling most with and finding out what level the student is working at. From here on I will create resources and choose topics that are best suited for the student. The resource contains questions in Green, Amber & Red sections in which the questions increase in difficulty and may even introduce exam style questions.

Also, I have taught online classes to students aged 11 - 16 years, focusing on GCSE Maths. My characteristics as a tutor includes; being patient, being cheerful & having respect for my students.
