About Blair
I’m a dedicated SAT Reading and Writing tutor who focuses on clarity, strategy, and steady improvement. I scored a 1490 on the SAT, including a 750 in Reading and Writing, and I now study at the College of the Holy Cross. My approach is straightforward: I teach the SAT the way I learned it—by breaking the test into simple patterns, building strong fundamentals, and practicing with real, test-style questions. In each lesson, I start by identifying what the student needs most that day. Then I focus on one key skill—whether it’s grammar, transitions, reading strategies, or pacing—and walk through it step by step. I model the process first, then guide students as they apply it on their own. Every session ends with a short review and a clear plan for what to work on next. This creates consistent progress and builds confidence quickly. What sets me apart is that I’m not teaching from memory or outdated methods. I took the SAT recently, succeeded on it, and understand exactly what today’s students are going through. As a current college freshman, I connect easily with students and understand the pressures of school, extracurriculars, and the admissions process. At the same time, I keep my sessions professional, organized, and focused on measurable improvement. My lessons are ideal for high school students at any level—whether you’re aiming for a top score or simply looking to strengthen your skills. I’m patient, reliable, and committed to helping every student understand the test, improve their performance, and feel confident walking into test day.

I approach tutoring by focusing on clear explanations, consistent practice, and teaching students how to think the way the SAT expects. I break the Reading and Writing sections into patterns and rules that make the test feel predictable instead of overwhelming. My method includes walking students through examples, practicing skills step-by-step, and giving direct, easy-to-understand feedback.
A typical lesson starts with a short warm-up to see where the student is that day. Then we focus on one main skill—like grammar rules, transitions, or reading strategies—and practice it with real SAT-style questions. I guide students through the first few problems, then let them try the rest on their own so they build confidence. We end by reviewing mistakes and creating a simple plan for what to practice before the next session.
What sets me apart is that I’m a recent test taker myself. I scored a 1490 and a 750 on the Reading/Writing section, so everything I teach is based on what actually worked for me. As a current freshman at the College of the Holy Cross, I also understand what students are dealing with—AP classes, extracurriculars, stress, and the pressure of getting into college. Because I’m younger, I can relate to students more easily, and I know how to make the material feel less intimidating.
My lessons are for high school students of any level, whether you’re aiming for a high score or just trying to get more comfortable with the test. I work well with students who want structure, clear strategies, and a tutor who understands the college admissions process from recent experience.
